Over the course of her life, Sherri held a special place in her heart to care for families and children in need, and she creatively thought of practical acts of service to address these needs.
 
During her own battle with cancer, Sherri expressed a desire to bring comfort to children who are battling cancer at CHOC by reading stories, providing visits with a trained dog, and identifying other sources of joy and support for these children and their families. The Child Life program at CHOC is dedicated to this end, as well as ensuring that patients receive comfort through music, art and pet therapies. It also provides tactile resources in emotional coping kits and ensures that children get care from certified Child Life Specialists. 
 
A gift in honor of our beloved Sherri Turner will go directly toward this Child Life program at CHOC.
