Support CHOC Resident Dog Program

Please join us in honoring the life of Connie Lapp, a member of the CHOC family who contributed to the well being of children in so many ways! Connie joined the CHOC in 1989 and she continued to share her warmth, beautiful laugh and smile, and incredible compassion until her retirement in 2014. In truth, her impact on us continues to this very day. As a CMG pediatrician recently shared, "she touched us all with her brightness and kindness. She was so loved. Rest in peace."

Connie’s tremendous love of family, holidays, and dogs was evident to all! Connie and her husband Al cared for retired greyhounds; these wonderful creatures were lucky to have had her spoil them after their hard working years. A lover of all dogs, Connie's jar of treats and big hugs were a premium destination for the CHOC therapy dog team; seeing their happy wagging tails as they trotted into our offices warmed all of our hearts.

Connie touched so many in our CHOC family - her passing saddens us and yet reminds us of that special bond we all share: a commitment to supporting health and wellbeing to patients and one another. Thank you Connie for being a part of our lives.

In honor of her love of the pet therapy program, please consider supporting Resident Pet Therapy Program.

A gift in Connie’s memory will sustain this special program and the dogs who contribute distinctively and therapeutically to aid in a patient’s journey to wellness and in staff well-being. CHOC’s resident dog program provides invaluable services to patients and their families, but is not revenue producing or reimbursable through insurance. The critical benefits of this program are dependent upon philanthropy and supporters like you to help us encourage patients and their families to stay positive during the healing process.
