Angels like Oliver is a fundraiser I created in honor of my son Oliver Leonard Thomas Marley. Oliver was born on July 10th, 2020. He was born facing many serious health problems and for months he went without a diagnosis. In November 2020 Oliver was lucky enough to take part in a program that allowed him to receive Rapid Whole Genome Sequencing testing which led to a diagnosis and opened a world of possibilities and possible ways to stop the progression of his disease. We also learned Oliver was one of very few in the world to suffer from his genetic disorder, SAHH deficiency. Through this we were able to increase Oliver’s quality and quantity of life and gave him the very best year I think any child could possibly have. Unfortunately, on July 4th, 2021 just days shy of his 1st birthday, Oliver suffered an unexpected heart attack which quickly led to his passing. I am working to honor our beautiful son in every way possible and I think Oliver would be so happy to know he’s helping other families. Our goal is to raise money to put towards CHOCs rWGS research funds, each year they are able to cover a select few patients to receive this life changing test. Unfortunately this testing is expensive and many times insurance doesn’t cover it, so please consider donating to our fund in honor of our amazing son Oliver Marley and help other angels receive a diagnosis.
