Hello, my name is Marcus Sung, and I'm a junior at Portola High School. I wanted to show my support for Turkey and Syria in order to help the people there in the wake of recent catastrophes. Many of us frequently take the "small things" for granted and disregard the hardships that many people face throughout the world as irrelevant to us. As you would agree, I don't believe any family should ever have to go through these hardships or tragedies in their lives. Even though I only have access to basic resources as a high school student, I am confident that many children my age feel the same way about helping people in need. Support for Syria&Turkey is not just a fundraiser to financially assist those in need, but in the bigger picture, it is a platform to spread awareness of the struggles these families are experiencing. This one fundraiser might only make a small impact, but I've learned that the greatest way to change the world is to start with yourself, and I sincerely think that this small change can make a significant difference in the lives of people in Turkey and Syria.
