Donate to Faith Based Support for Families
Your thoughtful gift is vital to the Spiritual Care Services team. CHOC began its journey to grow its spiritual care just a little over 10 years ago with a goal to both create and expand the program necessary to respond to the spiritual needs of every patient and family at CHOC. Our focus was to provide them with comfort during a time that can often be one of the most challenging moments of their lives.
Because we rely on donor funding to provide these wonderful programs, serving the children and families at CHOC with the blessing of faith would not be possible without philanthropic support. Chaplains provide spiritual care and emotional support during difficult times and decision-making. They can pray or meditate with you, perform or arrange a baptism and provide anointing of the sick, as well as other services. They can provide counsel and arrange visits with community clergy from your faith.
Your generous donation will help the Spiritual Care Department provide:
• $50: Sacred texts from a variety of faiths, prayer rugs, rosaries, daily bread and other religious
• $100: Faith-focused reading materials on a variety of subjects for patients, siblings and parents including grief, trauma, recovery and support
• $500: Sponsor a family dinner during a holiday like Ramadan, Hanukkah, Christmas, etc.
• $1,000: Sponsor a faith-based event like the monthly Community Clergy Networking Luncheon or Tea for the Soul. Events like these help address stressors and reduce burnout by providing a designated time and peaceful space, within each hospital unit, for staff to reflect and seek support from their peers and CHOC’s Chaplains.
• $5,000 - Specialized Trainings including Crisis Intervention Training, Trauma Informed Care Training, Pediatric Mental Health Training, Emotional Debriefs, Palliative Care Certifications for Chaplains – All of the Chaplains at CHOC would receive specialized pediatric mental health training, preparing them to provide the best care possible to children and families struggling.
100% of your donation will benefit the Spiritual Care Department at CHOC. Thank you for making a positive impact on our community.
